For Counselors
Run your practice on the Morganelli Method OS
Your name, your families, your voice. The Method inside.
What this is
The Morganelli Method OS is the software Ivy League Admissions runs on. It carries the Morganelli Method — the college-admissions approach developed by John Morganelli, former Director of Admissions at Cornell University — as working tools rather than a binder of theory.
A small number of independent counselors run their own practice on it. The Method is the engine: the roadmap, the frameworks, the evaluative judgment, kept current as it develops. Everything a family actually experiences is yours — your brand, your voice, your students, and every decision along the way.
The software does the paperwork. The counseling stays with the counselor.
What comes with the Method, and what stays yours
This split is the whole design. You are licensing a methodology, not renting a generic tool.
What the Method brings
Built over a career, kept current
A grade-by-grade roadmap
What a student should be doing in 9th grade, and in 11th, and in the week the applications go out. Families always know what comes next.
The BluePrint
A student’s whole strategic foundation, built from their intake: prospective majors, the ethos that ties the application together, research direction, activities, and where the personal statement should go.
The working tools
Benchmark and Profile Audit, Research Question Studio, Essay Studio, Interview Prep, and the Aid Map — the same tools the practice uses on its own students.
The editing judgment
Show don’t tell, the investigative opener, and the read on where a draft has gone flat. The part of the work that usually takes years to learn.
What stays yours
Your practice, not ours
Your brand
Your name, your mark, and your tagline on every screen a family opens. Families experience your practice, not ours.
Your voice
Drafts come back sounding like you, learned from the way you already write to families — not like a template and not like someone else.
Your students
Your roster, meetings, portfolios, and calendar live on your own instance. Your families are never pooled with another counselor’s.
Your judgment
Every decision a family ever sees is one you made. The software prepares the work and then waits for you.
How a week actually runs
The same loop runs on every signal, for every student, all season.
Everything a student says lands in one place
Session notes, a parent’s email, the document a student sent at 11pm. All of it files itself against the right student instead of scattering across an inbox.
The work comes to you already prepared
When a student’s direction shifts, you get the read and the prepared update together: what changed, the evidence behind it, and a draft ready for your edit.
You make the call
Approve it, rewrite it, or throw it out. Nothing reaches a family until you say so, and your changes teach it how you would have written it.
The family sees the plan the day you decide it
Their portal reflects the decision immediately, so parents stop asking where things stand. Every step stays on the record and can be undone.
Nothing family-facing sends itself
Every draft, plan update, and recap waits for a counselor to approve it. That is a design decision, not a setting to switch off.
You keep your inbox
Paste a family email in and a Method draft comes back. Connecting a mailbox is optional, so you can start without handing over access to anything.
Your own instance
Your practice runs on its own deployment with its own families and its own data, under your brand.
Everything is on the record
Six months later you can show a family exactly why a decision was made, and who made it. Changes are reversible.
Who this fits
- You already have a method and want it to run consistently across every student.
- You are turning families away, or spending evenings on admin instead of counseling.
- You want families to see a real plan between meetings, not wonder what is happening.
- You want the Method’s frameworks without spending years building the tooling yourself.
Who it does not
- You want software that will counsel families for you. This is not that, on purpose.
- You want to resell access to families as a self-serve product.
- You are looking for the cheapest CRM. This carries a methodology, and it is priced accordingly.

Access is by invitation, and John onboards each practice himself — which is the only way the Method transfers properly. Tell us about your practice: how many students you carry, how you work now, and what is currently taking your evenings.
